Updates to Nokia Maps, Transport brings in integration between the apps and Nokia Drive
Nokia is finally bridging the gap between Nokia Maps, Nokia Transport and the Nokia Drive by letting both of the apps talk to each other and making it even more useful. This update for Windows Phone 8 devices now allows you to search anything on Nokia Maps and get driving direction right from the there i.e. it launches the Nokia Drive App next.
Launch Nokia Drive from Nokia Maps :
Once you search the address on Nokia Maps as destination to get direction, you will get a button which says “Start Navigation”. As soon as you hit this button it will launch the Nokia Drive App with the same route set.
Launch Nokia Maps from Nokia Transport :
Same goes for Nokia Transport Apps where you can search for a destination get direction and this time it launches the Nokia Maps but there is no way to launch the Nokia Drive App from here.
There is no word if the integration will be coming for Windows Phone 7.5 Nokia Lumia devices which I am guessing will not come because there is no way to apps can talk with each other in 7.5. As of now you only have Get Directions which uses the maps in the background.
