Use Windows Phone Recovery Tool If Windows 10 Preview Bricks Your Phone
Microsoft is pretty confident that the preview of Windows 10 for Phone is not going to brick any phone. It seems they have throughly tested it, but just in case, they also have rolled out an official Windows Phone Recovery Tool for Preview users. This will get you back to Windows 8.1 and then you will be able to use your previous backup to restore the phone OTA. As of now the tool is only available for Windows users.

Here is how to use it:
- Install it.
- Connect your phone, and wait till it gets detected.
- Once it does, it will find the latest release for the phone. You will get to see the version on your phone as well for a quick comparison.
- Next choose to Reinstall Software. Below are the screenshots of the same.

This can be also be used to fix any Windows Phone to its latest version, which is what Nokia Recovery Tool used to do. I expect this to be a part of Windows Store in near future, making it easier for anybody to fix their phone on their own. Now sure if this will work for all devices or will it be specific to Lumia only.
As the software gets downloaded on our PC, make sure you are connected to a WIFI network for better experience. Right after this, you will need to follow up the restore process. I really wished MS was working on a product that can create mirror image of the phone, but I guess thats not happening anytime soon.
