UWP Community Toolkit now Supports Fluent Design System and more
UWP Community Toolkit was a big introduction, and step for help developers to get their app universal. This toolkit just took a major jump by moving to version 2.0 and now includes support for Fluent Design System which is a major highlight for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
The next update for Windows 10 is around the corner, and if you want your apps to be at par with the new look, and feel of the Windows 10 OS, its time to update the toolkit, and then update all your apps built using this. That said, while you get new APIs, some of the features like support for light, depth, material, etc might take a bit of more time to show up.

You also get access to two new packages Microsoft.Toolkit and Microsoft.Toolkit.Services to support cross-platform development. This will enable developers to share more of their code across platforms. You should know that these packages are built with .Net Standard, and support any platform with 1.4 and above. Microsoft is also working to get more services to work cross platform, and if BING is something you are using, the Bing Service API is also available.
That said, the stats for how much interest developers have in this UWP toolkit is yet unknown. There are many UWP Apps now in the store, but the numbers are still low.
