Microsoft announced two new budget smartphones in the Lumia series, the Lumia 435 and the Lumia 532 last month and these two devices have made it to India. We have already reviewed the Lumia 435 and now we have the Lumia 532 which is almost similar in specs and features. While the Lumia 435 s priced Rs 5999, the Lumia 532 is Rs 6499. Here is the unboxing of the device along with first impressions.

First Impressions:

Design wise, the device is a mix of Asha & Nokia X which refreshed the design pattern Microsoft / Nokia been following from sometime and it looks very similar to the Lumia 435. However there is a change with respect to the finishing, while the Lumia 435 has matte finish all round, the Lumia 532 has a glossy finish on the side reminding us of the glassy Asha phones. This will find its appeal to consumers who look for a compact design.

The display is decent enough for the hardware it houses. The resolution is 800 X 480 with 233 PPI on a LCD panel. The PPI made sure that sharpness is good enough to please a general consumer and its better than the Lumia 530. The phone comes with 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage and Snapdragon 200 Quad Core processor.

When setting up the phone, there are two things that will grab your attention. It takes more time to boot, and the first app installation took over 5 minutes which is huge compared to usual 2-3 minutes time.

The phone come with automatic brightness control, which works out fine but we will get to know more in our detail review. There is also a 5MP camera when compared to 2MP on Lumia 435. Another interesting aspect of the device is that it comes with Glance screen which is an useful addition from Microsoft to the low end phones.

When it comes to packaging, Microsoft once again back to the regular packing of Lumia 530, 535, 730 etc and it is not a compact box like the Lumia 435. The box has Earphones, Charger, battery and the phone. There is no separate data cable or USB cable along with it.
