Video: Nokia’s Portable Wireless Charger DC-50

Right on the product page of Lumia 1520, there is a new accessory listed — DC50 which is actually a Portable Wireless Charge for those who doesn’t want to hook themselves to a PC or plug to turn on the wireless charger.

This accessory houses a battery capacity of  2400mAh which can be charged using a microUSB charging head.  Its a Qi charging technology enabled device which takes 150 min to completely charge which is more than what Lumai 920 used to take.

It also has a power indicator key along with LED indicators for battery level indication and charging indicator LED to tell you that your phone is correctly charging when you place on it. It comes in Red, White, Cyan and Black to match with Lumia colours.

That said, while I was thinking of a USB enabled wireless charger, Nokia has gone on step ahead and made it portable. I have been using Wireless Charging from a couple of months and I love it for one reason,  the USB port of my phone remains safe and I don’t have to put in a wire to charge every time.

Looking at the size of the device, its pretty portable but mind you that its not exactly the size of the phone so make sure your device isn’t slipping if you are using it on a moving train for example.

The design factor is very attractive both because of the colour and  the shape. Here is a quick demo of DC 50 portable wireless charger.
