Watch TV Shows on Windows Phone with MTV Shows App
MTV Shows App was recently rolled out for Windows Phone and to our surprise it has integration with US TV Providers which allow you to use the subscription on your phone to watch full episodes anywhere you want. Apart from this you will be able to watch All MTV Episodes and others as well which does not need you to sign up with anybody.
Features:
- Sneak peeks, after shows, bonus clips and exclusive, original content from your favorite MTV series including Catfish, Awkward, Teen Wolf, Teen Mom 2, Ridiculousness, Real World, Nikki and Sara etc.
- News from MTV fashion & MTV Style which also includes behind the scenes for popular movies. MTV Geek, MTV Hive and MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Movie Awards, summer music festivals and more.
The app is designed brilliantly beautiful with colors and design matching with taste of MTV. The home section includes latest videos from different categories including the popular serial on TV. The browse section has all categories for making your search easier.
OnTV section lists all the episodes for that day and upcoming days. Tap to get details list and the second tap will let you watch it. The video also supports caption option.
If your TV provider allows it, you will be able to watch the episodes both on TV and on Phone from anywhere.
My Thoughts:
That said, we found the app to be little slow, specially when listing details and loading videos even on high speed. There is no option to pin episodes to start screen which means a lot of rework for users where they need to search every time.
We expect the app to include more TV Providers in future on a global level keeping in mind that MTV is popular in many regions like India and Europe. One thing to appreciate is that the app has Full FAQ right in the app to help users know on using the app.
