What is PureMotion HD+ in Nokia Lumia 920
Nokia Announced PureMotion HD+ Technology for Lumia 920 and with that a lot has changed when it comes to screen of the phone. The phone is not only packs more pixels than iPhone 4 Retina display does, but it helps you read in a lot of brightness and it can respond to touch from keys or coins.
In the post below, I am trying to help you understand what PureMotion HD+ means in a simple English.
No Blinds i.e. Sunlight Reading made easy
If you ever noticed many smartphones when get into long scrolls or where there is a transition between screens, a blur is noticed. The problem was not with the phones software, but was with the hardware which could not refresh themselves without getting notice. PureMotion HD+ uses better LCD i.e. IPS or in-plane-switching type which has more refresh rate as it uses Over Drive concept which makes it at least 3 times faster on refreshes.
Nokia optimized display for outdoor reading e.g. in hard sunlight or so using couple of techniques.
ClearBlack Display technology : This uses a sequence of polarizing layers to eliminate reflections, similar to polarizing sunglasses, which lets you, avoid too much brightness of the sun and see past it.
High luminance mode for backlight LED-driving : This technique allows to throw light from behind e.g. if you ever noticed, increasing brightness of your phone helps you read better. The same thing is automated here by checking how much ambience light is out there and increase the backlight intensity.
Image contrast enhancement : Now the above two techniques can stop reflecting light to a great extent, but to take care of the rest, PureMotion HD+, alters the graphics color and contrast to make it look less dull i.e. The change in contrast makes the fogginess disappear from the picture.
More Sensitive :
This is more of self explanatory, it’s just that Resistive Touch used to respond to pointy objects, and capacitive is used to respond to bigger objects on touch this LCD is super sensitive to respond to all type of touches, this much high sensitivity can be PITA if the phone keeps responding to the keys and coins in your pocket.

More Pixels :
Lumia 920 packs in 332 pixels per inch which is even more the iPhone 4s has for its retina display. This means it will not only display more content, but elements at the corner of the screen or at the edges are easily accessible and reachable. To compare it, PureMotion HD+ (1280 X 768) has 7% more pixels than 720P (1280X720) with a 15:9 aspect ration.
