WhatsApp Web Now Works with Microsoft Edge

Looks like the recent update to Windows 10, also enabled some features or standards, because of which WhatsApp Web can now be used with the Edge browser. While the extensions are still on the way, this is the second reason I use Chrome on the PC, and end up using more battery, but had no choice.

  • Open Web.whatsapp.com
  • On your phone open WhatsApp, and look for option which says WhatsApp Web.
  • This will launch the camera, and then you need to scan the QR code which you see on web.whatsapp.com

WhatsApp Web with Edge

Prior to this, the only way to use WhatsApp Web on Edge was by by changing the user agent to chrome or safari, and surprisingly it still worked really well. Not sure what special thing got enabled here.

WhatsApp Web is one of the beast feature of the app as it lets me switch to any device, and still have access to all the chats. I really don’t need to pick up my phone for sending message, and even voice message if you have a microphone configured with your PC.
