WiFi Sense:
This smart feature is targeted to save your cellular data. So for example if there are certain hotspot where you need to enter your login information every time you connect, you can use the WIFI sense to pre configure it. Next time it does the job for you and gets you online automatically. This saves lot of time because you skip using the browser and typing in the same information again and again.
Now here is the deal. It’s not clear if this is going to remember the random hotspots available at hotels, which is different for each, or if it is going to support only standard hotspots offered in various countries by service providers.
Sharing WiFi Configurations:
Lets say you are already connected to a WiFi network and your friend wants to join in as well. So instead of giving out password and manually configuring it for them, you can share the already connected network via Outlook, Skype or Facebook Friends. It clearly says that:
Share Wi-Fi networks with these contacts. They get internet access if they use WiFi Sense, but they don’t get to see the shared password. You will also get Internet access through the networks they share.
Automatic WiFi Turn on and off:
When you to settings page and look at the WiFi, you will have two status. One which tells you if it’s on or off and the second which shows if WiFi sense is on or off.
When inside the Wi-Fi setting, you will have one drop down menu which allows you to schedule the wireless connectivity on after 1 hr, 4 hrs or in a day. You can also choose to turn it on manually every time.
This comes in handy when you are switching work place. So if I am leaving for office and my travel time is about 2 hrs, I can set it so I am connected to my Office network when I am there.
Conclusion:
These features are a warm welcome because nobody has to use an app to get this done. Of course these are bare minimum features but for regular users this will do a great job. What do you all think of this ?
