You will be able to Reset / Recover your Windows 10 Microsoft Account from LockScreen

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is adding an option to recover your Microsoft associated with Windows 10 right from the lock screen. This new feature is right now available on Windows 10 Insiders. This is going to be very handy as you will not have to depend on your Phone or look for another PC to reset your account.

This option will be available right under the password box on the login screen when you select your account. Interesting to note that this feature is powered by Cortana which will ask your email id and phone number to reset your account. If you are using Microsoft Authenticator, you will have to use it as well.  When you initiate the process, you will have to verify through captcha as well.

It is also possible to set the PIN via the settings through the lock screen. You will enter the password of your Microsoft account and then confirm again, that you are the owner of the account, with a confirmation code.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is expected to roll out this September and is already feature frozen as Microsoft has started bug hunt. We will be coming up with a detailed review of Fall Creators Update when it’s released.
