You will be able to Unlock your Facebook Account using Facial Recognition

It’s a no-brainer that in a future lot of companies will opt-in for Facial recognition once the technology gets even more accurate, but looks like Facebook already has something like Windows Hello / Apple Face ID feature that will unlock your Facebook Account in case you get locked out.

According to reports coming from TechCrunch, Social media researcher Devesh Logendran (a pseudonym) sent a screenshot of this feature to TNW’s Matt Navarra.  When Facebook was asked about it, the report was confirmed. They said:

We are testing a new feature for people who want to quickly and easily verify account ownership during the account recovery process. This optional feature is available only on devices you’ve already used to log in. It is another step, alongside two-factor authentication via SMS, that were taking to make sure account owners can confirm their identity.

Facebook has already been learning a lot about how you look like over a time period (that’s how it keeps tagging you automatically), and with this as one of the combination, it will act almost as a physical verification.

That said, It won’t be surprising if Facebook App in future can let you log in with supported devices right into your Facebook Account. Do you think Privacy concerns will be there? Time will tell.
