Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Rolling out to Insiders on Release Preview

It’s almost time. Start October 17th, Microsoft will start the gradual rollout of the next major update for Windows 10, the Fall Creators Update to all Windows 10 users on Anniversary Update & Creators Update. However, if you are on Insiders Program, Build 16299.15 is going to b your Windows 10 Fall Creators Update you had been waiting. Since this is for Release Preview ring….it’s certain that this is what we will see as RTM.

This was announced by Dona Sarkar at the Offical Windows Blog, which marked this rollout as final preparations for the general availability:

As part of final preparations for the general availability of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update on Oct. 17th, we have begun releasing Build 16299.15 to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring. If you are in the Release Preview ring and don’t see this build offered yet – be patient as it will be rolling out over the course of the next few days to everyone in the Release Preview ring.

This will also help Microsoft to actually see how the installation goes ahead, and if there are any hiccups. However, the major issues would arise and would be seen only when anybody on Anniversary or Creators Update plans to upgrade to this. In case you are doubtful, make sure to stay off the update unless you are very much sure. This is important for consumers on the machine they need to work on daily basis.

If you cannot wait till next week, you might want to apply for Insider program and then switch to slow ring to get the update almost instantly.
