Windows 10 Mobile Supports LED Notifications; OEMs Need to Enable it

Gabriel Aul recently tweeted that Windows 10 Mobile is all ready to support LED notifications. While we haven’t seen any of the Windows Phone in future supported or being talked about, LED is one feature that many look forward to. Why? Because you get to know something on your phone needs attention without unlocking it. As a matter of fact, many Android phones let you customise it with colours as well.

Coming back to Windows Phone / Windows 10 Mobile, I recently did experience LED on BLU WIN HD LTE but only when I put it on charge. As a matter of fact, the incredible Lumia 730 and 735 have deactivated LED notification which I guess will turn on when Microsoft delivers a firmware update.

That said, I hope Microsoft hasn’t just implemented a basic functionality, but instead has gone for a full fledge options i.e. Email, Message, Custom Colours and even ability to turn it off for folks who would like go old school. While LED notifications are really cool, they are one of the reasons battery drain out a lot. I guess if Microsoft can connected it with Ambient sensor, it might save some of it.
