Windows 10 Photos App to get a Companion App for Android & iOS

Microsoft is all set to roll out a major update to its Photos App which will bring tons of features first to Insiders, and then to consumers. In the version  2017.39101.15230.0 for Windows 10 PC will include public features, and also some feature which will go into testing among the Insiders first.

That said, the major news is the companion app for Android & iOS which will allow one to wirelessly transfer pictures from the mobile devices to your Windows 10 PC over WiFi.  This is an interesting move. OneDrive for both Android & iOS already allows one to upload files to its OneDrive service, but then not everyone uses OneDrive or even if we leave that, some would want to transfer their pics to PC directly without going through any third-party service.
