Windows Phone 8.1 to come with Custom Start Screen Backgrounds

We have seem quite a lot of rumors and information on the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 update which is slated to be rolled out later this year. The new Windows Phone 8.1 comes with new features including the notification center (or action center) and support for VPN and more (more details available here). Now we have another important information that Windows Phone 8.1 will support custom backgrounds for start screen.

Further, Tom Warren from Verge has tweeted a screenshot of the settings page of start screen where there is an option to select your image.

Here you can select the accent color and also choose the background photo for the start screen. It looks like after almost 2.5 years, Windows Phone 8 is really shaping up well to compete Android and iOS now that app market is also doing good.
