Windows Phone 8.1 to Come with Start Screen Backgrounds

While the start screen on Windows Phone 8 is unique and has live tiles, there is still one major feature missing and it is the support for wallpapers. Amount of customizations on start screen is limited to tile sizes in WP8. But with the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1, things are going to change. According to a video the start screen on Windows Phone 8.1 will have the ability to set wallpapers.

Users will be able to choose from a pre-selection of background images for their Start screens backgrounds. Apart from this, users can select photos from their Facebook, OneDrive, or camera roll as well. There is also parallax movement when the user scrolls, giving the Tiles a true a good feel to it.

The video does not have great clarity, but you can still see it in action below.

Ability to select photos from camera roll will be an important addition as users will be able to use their own images instead of using the pre-defined ones.
