Windows Phone 8.1 File Manager “Files” will be release in June
One of the most sought after feature in Windows Phone 8.1 is the File Manager. Although most users expected Microsoft to include File Manager in WP8.1, it was skipped and last month Joe Belfiore, the VP, Lead Windows Phone Team, at an AMA session on Reddit confirmed that the new file manager is coming in May and also posted some screenshots of the same. The screenshots did look great and users were expecting it this month.

According to a post in the Windows Phone user forum, it has been confirmed that the File Manager will only be available in June and has been delayed by one month. The new file manager will be called “Files” and can be downloaded from the Windows Phone store. This also means, it wont ship default with Windows Phone 8.1 and users will have to install it.
The new file manager will have option to create folders, move files and also manage SD card from the interface.
