Windows Phone 8 Update 8.0.10211.204 Starts Rolling out
According to Microsoft Windows Phone 8 update history, update no 8.0.10211.204 has started rolling out the first update which is bringing in lot of new features and performance improvement to the phone and user experience.
Messaging Improvements :
- It is possible to add multiple recipients together i.e bilk support.
- Any unsent message will be saved as draft
- And you will be able to edit messages which you forward!! FINALLY!!
Text Replies to Incoming Calls you cannot receive : Finally!! One of the most wanted feature for busy Windows Phone users now can send SMS when they cannot pick and its also possible to set up a predefined message. I hope there is an API open to this so devs can make use of it. More details.
Data control in IE : It is possible to block image downloading in IE if you are short of bandwidth usage. It is also possible to delete all the URL of any site completely.
Prioritize Wi-Fi connections: Like Windows OS, you can not tell the phone which WiFi to choose over the other. This way you can choose to connect with a stronger network first than weak ones.
Now the sad part, this update doesn’t seems to be rolling all the places, and its only for US ATT and Rogers now. There is no way to trick Zune now because it’s not there any more and all the updates are coming OTA. So if you don’t see it now, you have to wait.
To check if your phone has an update go to Settings > Phone Update > Check for updates. Make sure to check the option which says “Tell me when updates are available for my phone”.
