Windows Phone Apps using Nokia Music API

When discussing with Nokia Music Team at Barcelona, we came to know that Nokia Music API is actually open to developers. So one can actually use them API for almost everything with Music. Find Albums, Wallpapers, Launch music from their app into Nokia Music App, read the playlist etc. As a matter of fact, the first two apps here are from the chief Architect of Nokia, Steve Robbins.

Mix NFC Writer :

This application lets you write a Mix which you can create on the fly by choosing three artists or choose an existing mix section into a NFC tag. This when read by any other Windows Phone having Nokia Music, launches the same in the Nokia Music Application.

This is a great idea. You can have your favourite song over a NFC tag around your room and just launch it when you get into your room. You can also set a couple of them on to a house party and then user first launch it and then use the JBL speaker to rock the house.

Music Scene:

Lets say you landed in a new place and want to listen to popular artists around that place. Then this app can help you discover that. Just launch the app and it will find them over Here Maps. Select any of them and you can launch them in Nokia Music App.

The app users Wikipedia to find Artists around the place and then point them over to the map. If available you will be able to view the born or originate from which gives you almost the address of the Singer or Album maker.

Song Game:

Super Duper Music Fan or just want to pass sometime with Music, this game asks you small questions. First a sample track of the song is played and then you need to guess Artist, Song Title etc. You also get trophies for unlocking.

Since you might not know all artists around the world, you can switch to your country from the settings. Also the app integrates with Nokia Music App on Windows Phone 8

Artist Lockscreen:

This app lets you change the lockscreen wallpaper with Artist image of your favourite song. Integrated with Nokia Music, you can search from there and add them here. Said that, the app supports Artist image rotation so you don’t get bored.

Pop Quiz:

This quiz app is like those Q & A type. It will ask you couple of questions like Who had a number xx hit with in this year and so on. Once the answer shows up, you can launch the Nokia Music App from this app. Next listen to song and read about its biography.

You can pickup your range of years and change questions that suits you best. The trial version of the app this app has no limitation but has adverts.

Music DB :

This app lets you discover Top Artists, Albums etc. It can also scan your music collection and recommend something for you. It uses the playlist, top played artists on your phone and finds something that suits your music style. Any Album which you find here can be launched in Nokia Music App.
