Windows Phone hasn’t had a great run in terms of market share in most of the countries and the only place where it had some decent share was in Europe. But according to the latest statistics provided by Kantar for the three-month period ending December 2015, Windows Phone market shares have dropped in almost all countries in Europe and the US.
Italy, which was one of the markets with highest Windows Phone market share at 12.7%, has now shown almost 4.7% drop which is definitely not great signs for the OS.
The same is the case with Germany, France and Spain. The only market where it gained was in the UK where the share increased 1.8% and is now at 9.2%. Even in US, where it had a minor 3.8%, it has now come down to 1.6%.
The main reason we feel for the decline is the delay with release of Windows 10 Mobile and also the recent flagship releases had lot of bugs. Android is going strong in almost all regions backed by multiple flagships and variety of devices to choose in different price points.
We are hoping Microsoft might release the final build in February.
