A few weeks ago many Windows Phone blogs reported that the WP marketplace finally has more than 100,000 apps. Sadly, one Microsoft spokesperson later confirmed that the marketplace is still a few thousand apps short of reaching the 100,000 app milestone.
Today, Microsoft confirmed at the Windows Phone Summit that the Windows Phone Marketplace finally has more than 100,000 applications. The WP marketplace has been the fastest marketplace to get to the 100,000 mark. Microsoft also announced that Zynga will soon be bringing some of its popular games to Windows Phone Mango handsets, including Words with Friends and Draw Something.
Sadly, the Windows Phone marketplace still lacks a lot of quality and popular applications like Tasker, Instagram and more. Hopefully, with Windows Phone 8 bringing native code support and a bunch of other stuffs for developers, Windows Phone marketplace should soon see some quality apps being available on it.
