WInows 10 Mobile to get Fingerprint Reader Support
Since one year, not only the trend of adding a Fingerprint Sensor to Android phones have picked up, the sensors themselves have become accurate, and cheaper. It is one of the strongest MSPs for any phone these days with ability to quickly unlock, lock apps, and deliver experience which is better, and smoother than password lock.
Looks like Microsoft is finally adding support to the future mobile devices running on Windows 10 Mobile. This will be in addition to Windows Hello, Password Lock, and PIN lock which is built into the system. A WinHec presentation confirms of this, and Microsoft is going to announce the support with this anniversary update. We should see a couple of devices as well during the announcement.

If you been following the updates on the number of devices that were launched for Windows 10 Mobile recent, HP Elite X3 is a classic example which comes with a Fingerprint Sensor. These sensors were already supported fro Windows 10 Desktop, and it was only a matter of time when Microsoft devices to support it for Mobile Platform which runs on ARM architecture.
IMO, Fingerprint sensors deliver much better experience on individual basis compared to Windows Hello which is more inclined to business consumers or companies which want to have Face Recognition as standard. Also, the cost of implementing a sensors should not be much because we have seen those sensors even on a $100 Phone in India. Coolpad Lite is a classic example of it.
Another feature Microsoft needs to bake into the OS is native locking feature on Windows 10, and with fingerprint sensor support, this will become a killer feature.
