Witch Potion : An Interesting Matching Game on Windows Phone

While many matching games on Windows Phone, few try to go different and make you use your sharp brain. Witch Potion is one such game where, even though the idea is simple—move similar objects next to each other to collect them—you can’t leave any of them alone.

Game Play:

While the rule is simple, the game designer made sure that you have a bit of fun and challenge as well by rolling out restrictions where you cannot pick up certain elements, you need to follow the rules of gravity, and at times you may reverse it, but just once.  The good thing is that anything above 2 gets collected. So if you can make three get along, you save on steps.

Witch Potion Game Play

As you collect the items, the level of the potion bar on the left keeps rising. This is very similar to what I have seen in Candy Crush.

The game is nicely planned out in stage-wise missions. To get to the next stage, you must clear and collect a minimum number of stars. The only way to get more stars is to complete the stage in fewer moves.

Game Design:

It’s a classical game and doesn’t expect HD graphics, though it would be nice as most games are not upgrading to that. Nevertheless, the game layout doesn’t complicate the game anywhere. You can easily understand the game by reading the instructions or even without it.

The only thing you need to concentrate on is what you must do in the game and what you must skip. After you get that part, your first move decides everything, and there is no undo.

The game is free and a good addition to the platform, especially when it’s exclusive to Windows Phone, and it works even on 512 MB devices. If you would like to take a change from those high-speed car racing games, try out the 120 levels of Witch Potion.
