Windows Phone App to re-install already purchased app on New Phones

One of the biggest pain when it comes to switching windows phones is re-installing apps again in your new phone, had done a hard reset or just want to know which apps you already have and the best way till now was using the Web Interface but now we have an App for that, Reinstaller. So till Zune gets smart and full of featured pack for pure migration like Xbox, use this.

What this app is not ?

Now before you start getting too excited let me tell you on the first hand,

It’s not a Bulk Downloader
It’s not totally automated.
It cannot scan list of apps you have on your phone and give you only what is not installed. This is typically useful for new phones or if you have made a hard reset.

So if you are expecting Hit the Download Button and go for a dinner, We aren’t there, jut not yet!! And No it’s not Developers problem, it should be an API issue and if not we can expect it to come out in next version.

How it Works ?

It connects with your Live Account and finds the list of the apps you have bought till date. This connection is temporary which closes when the list of apps are populated.
Next you can select the list of apps you want to download and start the process.

Next it will prompt you for every app if you want to download and when you say yes, this will open that particular app in Marketplace App of Windows Phone. Then you need to hit the install button to get the app.
It will cache all the list of apps offline once it has collected all the app list. So if you want to refresh, you need to connect again and refresh it.

Next you press the back button to come to the list and select next app you want to download. Now once you have said yes for all, you can think of getting a coffee and make sure you have plugged in your phone on charge.

Suggestion : How the App can Improve

This app is going to be the most popular app of Windows Phone marketplace for sure but there are few areas where the app’s dev needs to think :

Apart from listing the app names, it should also show the size of the apps. So users can decide to start download now or when they are on better connection because anyways the marketplace will not download those apps.

While Installing using this app, When I get back to my download list, the app should some way mark that the app has been installed just now or ask me if I had installed the app and would like to mark it as downloaded.
