Homebrew WP App sends phone screenshot, over WiFi, to your computer
Taking screenshot on Windows Phone had always been on top list of app reviewers like us here and the first time we had our hands on first such tool from JerryJiang we were overjoyed but what N37-L0RD has developed is something we all will thank him for.
His WP Screenshot app can not send screenshot from your phone directly to your computer over wifi without you taking much of pain sending them over email or syncing with zune or copying them manually using some root tools. This is so easy and if you are connected over WIFI you wont see any lag.
This applications comes in two-parts :
- A XAP file which you need to deploy on your phone, the phone should be unlocked.
- An executable file which act as server to receive data from the App on your windows phone.
So once you run the exec on your machine, In the app you need enter the IP address of your computer and press connect. Done that on your client you will see the server will say “Waiting for First Screenshot”.
If you see this you are done. Now half press the camera button / Use Volume Keys and you will see the screenshot of your phone right there. Next you can do a bit of rotation, highlight, save and so on. Once done you need to get back to app on your phone and press stop as it runs this as background task.
The App now automatically saves it to a predefined folder however you will have to set it everytime you launch the server app. I have requested the dev to use a configuration file so it can remember the last used location.
The only place where you wont see this working will be the connection part so just make sure you run the server app with admin privilege i.e. run as administrator.
