wpTorrent adds support for Skydrive, Music+ Video Hub and Improved File Management
wpTorrent app for Windows Phone is the only full fledged client if you are looking for a torrent app for Windows Phone. This was released sometime ago and we been beta testing this. Glad to share that this app just got a major update which brings in tons of features which many of you been looking for.
Save music to Music + videos Hub:
Prior to the update, File Copy was only possible when you connect the phone over WiFi with your PC with same network. Now, since not every user will have Wi-Fi, saving to Music + Video hub comes into play.
Now Windows Phone does not allow to save an unsupported extension to video library so the app tricks by saving it as .MP3 files instead. The next step should be to connect with your PC and then copy it to your computer. You should then remove the .MP3 extension and use it.
In case the file is big, it will take some time to copy and you wont be able to use it on your phone. The process runs in the background.
Upload files to Skydrive:
This is a foreground process which works once you connect your Skydrive Account with the app. As of now the app uploads to the root folder on your Skydrive i.e. there is no way to select a particular folder on your SkyDrive. A progress bar and status icon makes sure you know if the file was uploaded to SkyDrive
File management support:
- You will be able to create folders and moves files into them. This is useful if you wanted to arrange the files properly and according to categorization of your choice. You will need to long press when in a folder and choose move to this folder.
- Long Press over an item shows up the context menu.
- Rename, Cut, Move and Delete.
Apart from this there are a couple of fixes like support for long named files or long path files, bug fix for download when option for WiFi is turned off and more.
