Xbox 360 Price drops in India; What’s Your Thought?

As the date of Xbox One announcement gets closers in India, we see lot of activities happening around Xbox. Few days before, Xbox India team announced free games for gamers who move to Gold membership and now to attract new users, official price of Xbox 360 has been cut down by Rs 3000.

Xbox 360 Models

This price cut down is for 250 GB models, with or without Kinect. Those who got excited about 4GB mode, sorry folks no price cut there.

Anshu Mor, Director – Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft India, said, “We are committed to offer great experiences to our consumers at compelling price points. This price drop on 250GB Sku’s, coupled with our recently launched Xbox Live Gold Rush promo, will provide great value to our community of fans and gamers.”

That said, here are the new pricing:

Xbox 360                Current MRP   NEW MRP

250GB                    Rs 24,990         Rs 21,990

250GB + Kinect      Rs 34,890        Rs 31,990

In it’s recent Xbox Live Gold Rush promo, Microsoft is giving away a Gold Rush suitcase full of gaming goodies worth INR 3 Lacs approx. The prize includes a 100g Gold Bar, a Titanfall Collector’s Edition for Xbox 360, an Xbox 360 Special Edition Chrome series controller (Gold), and an Xbox Live 12-month Gold subscription card. In addition, eight lucky Xbox Live Gold members will also be picked at random to win an Xbox Live 12-Month Gold Subscription Card and Rs 2500 worth of Xbox Live credits every week.

Xbox 360 Gold Rush

It’s definitely a good news for those who don’t want to buy an Xbox One as the expected launch price will be high. However, I would expect these kind of efforts from Microsoft before a competition console launches its new model or drops the price of the old console.

I hope Microsoft pushes a lot more effort more often to grow the community of Xbox gamers in India in future.,
