Xbox Controller will work with Windows, Xbox doesn’t need Kinect to be always turned on

Every Windows gamer is very much passionate about using the Xbox Controller when playing games on their PC which in future will be possible if you buy Xbox One. Yup, you did not misread here but like Xbox 360 controller was possible to use with PC games using an additional hardware, Xbox One controller will be too.

Stephen@Kotkau managed to get an email reply from a Microsoft Spokesperson and they said that the team wants to make it possible but that will take sometime and it will be as quick as 2014. Stephen in his post about changes in Xbox Controller has detailed a lot of small changes which makes the Xbox One controller. It is surprising to know that Xbox One controller was experimented to have real smell feedback and tested for a smaller screen which did not workout well. Go read more about it here

Coming to the Kinect and Xbox One, Microsoft has officially announced that Kinect doesn’t need to stay on all the time for Xbox One to work. Many Xbox One users were worried about Privacy and this statement must help to clear the cloud of doubts. That said, Microsoft has no plan to sell Xbox One without Kinect. So keeping Kinect connected will become optional though there are many reasons why you should be using Xbox One with Kinect than without it — player identification, voice commands are few of them. All that said, Microsoft and Xbox team are definitely listening to the user’s feedback. Where everything started with restricted game sharing, 24hrs Online Check, Family Features, always on Kinect 2.0, now the things have loosened up a bit. Though I am a very strong supporter of Xbox One ideas, not everybody is comfortable.
