Xbox Insider Program to Open to Everyone

Insider Program doesn’t need an introduction, and following the Windows success, Xbox Team has opened up the Insider Program for everyone. Prior to this, it was only based on invites where one Xbox Live member had an option to invite others.

Update Xbox One

Xbox Team is rolling out a new update ( of around 4 GB) which will enable this option. Along with this major change, the update also includes the following:

A new name – the Xbox Insider Hub (update to the Xbox Preview Dashboard app)

Personalized to give you more relevant announcements, quests, and Insider content opportunities to get early access to select games and apps
A new UI, inspired by the New Xbox One Experience, makes it easier to find the right info and provide more robust feedback
The Xbox Insider profile card where your contributions in the program come front and center

Support for multiple users on a console to participate and provide feedback

While this sounds exciting, and I will definitely suggest you to opt-in for the insiders program to experience the new features ahead of everybody, but be also aware of what you are getting into.

The updates are frequent, and they vary from 500 MB to 4GB. So unless you have that amount of bandwidth to spend on, specially those with FUP, please skip.
Many a times things break. Some features work, some not. So you will have to live with it.

If you are still a go for it, the update is getting rolled out, and make sure to have your console connected.

How to Opt-in to Insider Program on Xbox One ?

If you never opted in to the Insider program before, the option is coming to you soon. The details on how it will work exactly is not clear yet, but expect an update to show up on your Xbox which will enable it.

I am guessing that it will become in-built into the system, like how it is on Windows 10 now. The next step should be to install the Xbox Insider Hub app from the store.

Now here is how it will be little different from Windows Insider.

Xbox system updates will currently be limited to those already testing them (not open to new members)
New Users will be able to try out games, apps, and other console experiences which includes beta of the latest instalment in your favourite franchise, you’ll now get to choose how to participate.
