Xbox Live Indie Games get 500 MB CCGAME size, 80 Point Games, twenty titles per developer.
Good news for Xbox Live Indie Games developers as cited by the Microsoft News Blog. As per the official announcement Xbox Indie Game Developers now :
- Submit game sizes which can be more than 500 MB which was previously limited to 150 Mb for Xbox Live Games.
- With the increase in minimum size, Devs can now set price for titles larger than 50MB be priced at either 240 or 400 points and 80 Points for game under 150 MB
- Also the dev’s can now submit up-to 20 Titles which previously only 10 in the App Hub Account.
Overall this is an excellent news because not only devs will be able to make good money but now gamers can have games at lower price which was previously marked higher.
However according to one of the dev :
The file size increase is nice, but the size limitation was never a problem for us, just something to plan for and work around. The size and complexity are more limited by the forced 8 minute trial, you can’t make big games, just simple easy to play games.
