Xbox One may get External Drive Support
I remember having an Xbox 360 4 GB version where the only option was to uninstall older games to install the new ones. Later I upgraded to 250 GB as I played more games, though an option to use USB was always there.
Xbox One isn’t just a gaming console, unless you are buying the stand alone version, and demands more space than ever as more and more games may go digital in future.
An image that got pinned on Xbox One Reddit shows that that console in future updates will support External drive. This image clearly shows the amount of space as 585.9 GB as free space and on the right of that is the Xbox One notification which says “External Drive Ready”
If true this is huge and makes sense. Any console Microsoft has built till date lasts for at least 5 to 8 years. During the period, lot of things change. In future as the internet speed and penetration increases, more people will opt in for Digital downloads than buying the DVD version and keep in mind the life term, it only make sense for Xbox one to get the external driver support for managing their movies, game downloads and so on.
What do you think? Would you opt in for external drive support ?
