XBox One Voice Commands Cheat Sheat

While Xbox One has been touted as all set to hear your voice, we are hearing a lot of people even in US complaining about it and it seems it needs a lot of calibration etc to get voice thing right, specially outside US where accents will play a major role.

But do you know how many Xbox One commands are there that can be used with Kinect ? Broadly there are 34 such commands which can be again broken down into sub commands and I am guessing the count beyond 50 easily. So while you take your time to learn it and open your manuals to figure out commands, Xbox’s Major Nelson has posted a cheat sheet which you can print and will definitely come handy.

Xbox One Voice Commands Cheat Sheet

The commands are categorized into

  • Voice Shortcuts –  These do basic things like turn the Xbox One on or Off, Scan a code, notification center etc. Things to get you started.
  • Identity — Sign In, Sign out and Sign in As
  • Gaming — Record and Invite
  • Volume — Increase, Decrease, Mute and Unmute
  • Navigation and Multitasking — Lets you switch, snap and Bing
  • Communication — All about Skype
  • TV — All about controlling TV ad Guide
  • Transport Controls — Control Xbox Music or any Media Playback

The guide also says to make sure that your Kinect is in listen mode and you have configured it will. Basically you need to make sure that Kinect knows what you say and to speak slowly at start so that each word makes sense to it.
