Xbox One & Windows 10 Store Game Gifting Option Available for Some

We recently reported that Microsoft is working to enable Game & App Gifting Option in the Windows 10 Store, and Xbox One Store as well. Looks like the options are getting enabled for selected users. This was in fact shared by Mike Ybarra, Xbox Platform CVP.

Windows Central reports that This option has been enabled for Xbox Insider Program running 1710 preview builds, and also for some of the PC users for few Xbox Play Anywhere titles. The official announcement of this feature is due, and I am guessing this will go officially when Windows 10 Fall Creators Update gets official.  Below is the screenshot:

This option is available along with Purchase option and is right next to it. You will need to use an email address or Xbox Live Gamertag to send this as a digital gift. You can also personalize it a bit using a message. The rest of the process remains same. The receiver would get a 25-digit pre-paid code that one has to redeem via Xbox Live.

That said, I would have loved it even better if instead of code, the game could be have been just set to ready for download. That will be a much smoother process for those who would find this a bit complicated.
