Not everyone wants to get on PC for party chat, especially if you are on the move. While Xbox One Party Chat helps gamers have a great experience while playing multiplayer, nothing stops them from using it for a casual chat. Xbox’s Major Nelson announced this feature, where he said, “Starting today, you can use your iOS and Android mobile devices to start, join, and chat with voice and text in an Xbox Live Party.” You can also use Party texting, invite more people to the party, change party settings when needed, join new party chat, and use voice from the phone.
Many a time, I have used ditched my TV for listening to Audio chat and switched to Laptop, but now with this on my phone, I can plug my earphones and connect it there for a much better experience.

Looking at the comments on Twitter seems like many want to have Discord-like third-party apps to be available or integrated with Xbox Live. Also, the app is now part of the Xbox Dashboard and works pretty well.
