Xbox One to Windows 10 Streaming gets “Very High” Quality Option

If you had always felt that  quality of stream from Xbox One to Windows 10 wasn’t that good, and it lagged in one way or the other, Microsoft has flipped the switch to make you smile. As reported by  GnegSalaban at Reddit, a new option, “Very High” is not available under settings.

Last week, this setting was revealed and was only available via a registry hack, but it seems Microsoft did not like it and hence has just flipped the switch. Yup this means the settings should now be available  on your Xbox One App on Windows 10. Go to Settings > Game streaming > Quality and select Very High for video encoding level. It is also possible that this setting is already enabled. Seem like Windows 10 is seriously talking to Microsoft all the time :) Xbox App High Quality Streaming Options

This option only shows up when you are connected to your Xbox One via the Xbox App on Windows 10. So first connect, and then get to the setting to enable and use it.

Now that said, the overall experience of streaming depends on lot of factors which include your network speed, internet speed, and the router you are using. As for me, when connected to Wired setup, I feel no hiccups, but when I switch to WiFi, it just lags terribly. However, one of my friend shared that it depends on router. This feature works best if you have a router built for gaming. I think I will agree to that.
